Explore Cape Verde was established in 2015 to provide professional and educational nature excursions to guests of Sal island. As a fully licensed company (and protected species license holders), we are the leading example in providing a sustainable form of tourism to highlight Cape Verde’s natural beauty and amazing wildlife, all whilst minimising any impact of human activities. We believe eco-tourism should benefit conservation activities therefore shares of our profits are donated to the sole conservation project based on Sal, Project Biodiversity.

Project Biodiversity are the sole conservation charity based in Sal, working to protect its native flora and fauna. Focusing on key species, the project work to protect the nesting loggerhead turtle, red billed tropicbird and osprey, as well as protecting their natural habitat. With an ever expanding education programme they are reaching school and youth groups, teaching them biology and conservation, so the next generation can protect their home and all its inhabitants. Learn more about the project at their website by clicking on their photo! You can even adopt a turtle (symbolically of course!) and have a great gift for a loved one (or even yourself!) whilst supporting this important project. Explore Cape Verde donates a percentage of their profits from its nature excursions towards Project Biodiversity.
